How to Make Money with A Miniature Golf Course
Miniature golf course owners are doing a tremendous business. The new courses are charging between $6.00 and $9.00 per game and in a typical season gross over $200,000. Some new courses gross over $500,000 per year.
Most miniature golf is played in the evening hours and on weekends. A typical game takes about forty-five minutes and an eighteen hole mini golf course can accommodate about 100 players per hour. With a playing fee of $7.00 per round, projected income during peak periods is $700.00 per hour. On summer evenings, many Harris built courses have waiting lines and operate at capacity for most of the night.
Income Projection
The "Income Projection" table is based on a northern mini golf course which operates from about May 15 to September 15. As you go farther south, the season becomes longer and income increases. The table illustrates that a reasonable volume business, even on a northern course, produces exceptional profits. Many Harris Miniature Golf Courses return their capital investment in the first year.
Best of all, miniature golf has virtually no inventory and very low expenses. You can operate the course with one or two low cost employees to hand out putters and balls and take care of the clean-up chores. Except for score cards, nothing is consumed in the miniature golf business. The same putters and balls are used for every round.
